Course Overview:

The structural integrity of an in-service process unit is critical to ensure safe and efficient plant operation. This course covers the optimal inspection procedures for fluid catalytic cracking (FCC), reforming, HF alkylation, and hydrocracking process units. Unit designs will be reviewed, including unit damage mechanisms. Inspection planning is also covered. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss unit-specific problems and review possible solutions. A comprehensive inspection training manual will be provided for reference on the job.

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for personnel who are responsible for the mechanical integrity of process vessels and equipment inspection. Refinery inspectors, operations personnel, and reliability engineers will all benefit from the training.

Course Objective :

             Participants will be able to:
              • Plan, inspect, repair and report on key process units, including FCC, reforming, HF alkylation and hydrocracking
              • Compare and contrast unit designs
              • Discuss unit damage mechanisms
              • List the key steps in the inspection planning process
              • Identify unit-specific problems and describe typical solutions.
